Programme Overview
We are excited to welcoming you in Bern in October 2024!
- Before the official conference, the PHPCI Academy (previously summer school) takes place in Münchenwiler, close to Bern.
- The following 8th PHPCI Conference is carried out in the heart of the old city of Bern and integrates three thematic threads. The main focus of the conference is on Public Health Palliative Care projects in research & education from all around the world. Further, a program for the exchange of experiences from compassionate cities in German-speaking countries (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) will be carried out. A third thread focuses on the development of compassionate cities within Switzerland inspired by international projects (these sessions will be translated French/ German): further details can be found in the conference agenda.
- After the PHPCI Conference, on Friday afternoon, the Digital Legacy Conference is taking place. This annual conference explores and celebrates the positive impact technology can have within the end of life and bereavement.
- Next to the conference week, the City Festival «ultimately.human.» offers several activities and events to engage, in collaboration with the Compassionate City «Bärn treit».
